**Job Summary**:
As a Lathe Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on mainly CNC Machines/lathes and a variety of equipment related to lens manufacturing. The role requires a high level of expertise in mechanical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and train technicians.

Reporting to the Operation Manager or Supervisor, the Lathe/Mechanical Technician, will collaborate with the Operations and Engineering Team to help meet and exceed daily production throughput goals for the lathing manufacturing operations.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong mechanical or/and electro-mechanical and maintenance knowledge
- Computer, digital and electronic skills (DOS, Windows OS).
- Exhibits good communication skills - verbal, written, and comprehension of both French and English language.
- Detailed oriented, minutia.
- Demonstrate adaptability, versatility, and rigor.

**Work Environment**:

- Physically active production environment.
- Moderate physical abilities necessary to perform position. Standing for up to 50-70% of the time.

**Experience**:

- 5-10 years of maintenance experience
- 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing environment preferred.Any combined experienced working, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery such as CNC/lathes, blockers, autoloaders, tray handling systems, microscopes, micrometers, multimeters, dial indicators, gauge pins, etc., a plus.

**Education**:

- **Professional degree **or **Vocational diploma **(High School) in Electro-Mechanical industrial Mechanic or as a Automated Systems Electromechanics or;
- A **Collegial Technical diploma **in Mechanical Engineering (ex. Automation/Manufacturing/CNC/lathes/pneumatics).

An important asset if you also have:

- An additional diploma and/or certificate in electricity.
- Training on other digitally controlled machine tools.
- Additional diploma (DEP) or your Québec Certificate in in electricity, a plus.Additional diploma as a machinist, a plus.
