Temporary Instructor, Automotive Service Technology

As NAIT continues to grow its student body and lead the way in hands-on learning, we are recruiting skilled and passionate individuals to help inspire and train current and future industry professionals and become part of Canada’s leading polytechnic.

NAIT Automotive Service Technology program is a two-year diploma providing exposure to new trends and technologies. Once students complete the program, they will have the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience in dynamic shop environments to diagnose vehicle systems, and repair and maintain vehicles.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, virtual, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma
- Completion of Automotive Service Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
- Minimum 8 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson certificate preferred.
- Additional relevant post-secondary education and/or professional development training
- Teaching experience preferred

**Remuneration**: $2,432.45 - $4,231.45 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - NASA Instructor).
- This position is covered by the NASA (NAIT Academic Staff Association) Collective Agreement._
