The Safe Mobility Section provides leadership toward the City of Edmonton’s efforts to achieve Vision Zero, zero traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries, by 2032. Endorsed by City Council in 2015, this work encompasses transportation and city-building efforts from across the corporation, as outlined in the Safe Mobility Strategy 2021-2025.

The purpose of the Safe Mobility Strategy is to achieve Vision Zero through safe and livable streets in Edmonton. The Automated Enforcement unit collaborates with the Edmonton Police Service to conduct proactive and integrated enforcement to reduce speeds and other risky traffic behaviour.

As an Automated Enforcement Operations Specialist, you will:

- Increase the quality and efficiency of operations and services through developing, updating and implementing policies, procedures and training standards
- Ensure all applicable provincial Automated Traffic Enforcement guidelines are strictly adhered to
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in the planning and execution of work
- Develop processes and practices that support the continuous improvement and efficiencies of the section and contractor
- Lead and establish the performance management plans of all assigned contracts using standardized metrics, such as key performance indicators (KPIs) and/or service level agreements
- Conduct formal and informal performance reviews: reviewing financial; quality and delivery; relationship; and health, safety, and environment related items
- Hold the contractor accountable for the hours worked weekly and the deployment schedule as per the contracted requirements
- Lead continuous improvement and problem solving in partnership with the contractors
- Develop and implement tools, processes and procedures that provide high-level reporting on compliance to contracted requirements; this includes contract budgeting and monitoring of expenses
- Ensure equipment and systems provide continuous compliance to Automated Traffic Enforcement guidelines. Any change in operation, software or procedures must be communicated and checked for compliance
- Collaborate with investigations by outside agencies (Community Standards/EPS), supplying them with the appropriate information and data required to properly complete their investigation
- Collaborate with other internal resources to respond to inquiries from the public, City Council, and media by utilizing technical knowledge, experience and political acumen to help draft the responses
- Manage any potential information breaches including liaison with stakeholders on the resolution and needed notifications required if a breach occurs
- Ensure comprehensive record keeping is established and maintained in compliance with FOIP and audit standards

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of directly related working experience is required
- A graduate degree is an asset
- Project management designation, knowledge and experience is an asset
- Change management designation, knowledge, and experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as appropriate make decisions on issues that may be sensitive, time sensitive and or confidential
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as in a team environment where work responsibilities depend on team cooperation/collaboration
- Ability to make sound decisions with an understanding of budgetary and political implications
- Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills, ability to work towards mutually beneficial outcomes
- Considerable knowledge of applicable bylaws, standards and regulations pertaining to work
- Demonstrated creative and innovative thinking and problem solving
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contract management practices, policies, procedures
- Consulting and conflict resolution skills including ability to handle and address controversial situations
- Ability to excel in a results driven environment that requires the prioritization of conflicting and complex deliverables
- Skilled in exercising good tact and sound judgement in dealing with difficult situations
- Demonstrate service excellence, embracing diversity and promoting inclusiveness
