**Job title: Program Coordinator**

**Faculty: Faculty of Arts and Science**

**Hourly pay rate: $38.56**

**Work term: As soon as possible to October 31, 2023**

**Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5:00pm.**

**Type: Hybrid role, location St. George Campus.**

**ESSENTIAL WORK ACTIVITIES**:
1.  Program coordination, delivery, and logistics management:

- Conceptualize, organize, and execute event activities, which include, but are not limited to lectureships, seminars, research days, or workshops
- Ensure the smooth operation of events and ensure that all logistics and event details are implemented as planned
- Create event posters, programs, and agendas
- Ensure that communications for events and their participants are clear and complete
- Maintain event files, including documentation and correspondence
- In consultation with the Manager, prepare, send, and log invitations to invited speakers
- Maintain accurate event budget information
- Receive and organize receipts for reimbursements. Monitor receipts and records for compliance with reimbursements and other guidelines
- Identify pertinent information for clear, concise, accurate and professional announcements/communication
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager

2. Information management and organization:

- Coordinate maintenance of CANSSI Ontario-managed websites
- Produce, edit, update, and post online content in content management and other systems

3. Communication with members and relationship management with stakeholders:

- Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives
- Advising on communication strategies to support goals and priorities
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Analyzing data to determine trends and recommend target markets
- The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development of CANSSI Ontario’s marketing and communications plans by executing on all externally facing programmatic activities
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all at CANSSI Ontario, including staff, directorate, partners, participants, and other stakeholders
- Answer questions in a useful, helpful, collegial, and professional manner

4.  Other duties as assigned by the Manager

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Experience**:

- Two to three years' relevant work experience preferred
- Experience in program/event planning and implementation preferred

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field, or equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience

Computing Skills:

- Mac Operating System experience is preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Hands on experience with InDesign, Photoshop, or other publishing tools
- Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite products is preferred
- Premiere Pro would be an asset.
- Willingness to learn other computer programs as needed

- Superb written and oral communication skills, including the ability to distill high-level scientific research into concise and engaging content
- Excellent oral and writing/editing/proofreading skills
- Proven familiarity social media best practices
- Experience in event planning an asset

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $38.56 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
