Reporting to the Supervisor, Uniform & Laundry Program, the Uniform and Laundry Technician is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in the distribution, care, washing, pressing and maintenance of all Casino, Gaming Centre and Central Services uniforms.

**Duties**:

- Receive laundry from the casino sites.
- Visually identify and manually sort all garments for laundering.
- Accurately weigh laundry to allotted limit.
- Check all pockets on garments (e.g., pants, aprons, coats) before loading them into the washer.
- Wash garments accordingly, without exceeding load limit.
- Monitor length of operating cycle for washer and dryer while carrying out other assigned duties.
- Manually unload dryer and divide clothing evenly between pressers.
- Perform pressing of garments with steam presses.
- Balance the counts of recorded garments.
- Sort garments before sending them back to the casino sites and gaming centre.
- Attach cleaning docket to clothing batch before sending back to the casino sites.
- Record room temperature every hour in the pressing, staging and front door areas.
- Verify laundry dockets to ensure numbers are recorded in logs.
- Retrieve and distribute uniforms to staff scheduled at Central Services.
- Clean counters and floors.
- Start up and shut down equipment.
- Press barcodes (generic) on garments.
- Sew RFID tags on new uniforms or where applicable.
- Assist Supervisor with inventory: receiving, verifying and storing of supplies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Uniform & Laundry Program Supervisor or the Manager, Warehouse & Uniforms.
- Encourage a climate that supports diversity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Primary Qualifications:

- Completion of a Grade 12 (High School) diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- The incumbent must have WHMIS certification and training on laundry machinery, which will be acquired on the job.
- The key accountabilities for this position include adapting to new changing conditions in a positive manner, communicating and working respectfully with co-workers, consistently delivering excellence in customer service, demonstrating appropriate job knowledge, following direction from leadership on assigned tasks, following established Safe Work policies and practices, following Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries’ policies and procedures, meeting the established attendance expectations, meeting the productivity performance expectations and taking accountability for actions.

Secondary Qualifications:

- Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
- Level I training in sewing and alterations will be acquired on the job.
- Previous training in sewing to assist with repairs and alterations of garments.
- Previous experience in customer service and laundry.
- Basic computer experience.
- One to three months of on-the-job learning is required to fully understand department procedures and expectations of the position.

**Testing may form part of the screening/selection process. Employment Equity will be a factor in the recruitment process. Circumstances may arise where the bulletin may need to be withdrawn or the number of positions may need to be increased depending on the Collective Agreement.
