**The Position**:
Reporting to the Communications Manager, the **Communications Associate** is a passionate writer and storyteller who can amplify our brand voice and inspire our communities to give, helping us create hope and more moments for Albertans facing cancer. This position is part of a nimble, dedicated and award-winning marketing and communication team that plays a key role in the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. This position is open to both Edmonton and Calgary residents.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**Content development and editing**
- Support the Communications Manager on the development of various major gift proposals and fundraising cases needed to build awareness and inspire giving
- Work closely with the Donor Impact & Engagement team to support the development of reports - through excellence in writing - to demonstrate the impact of the Alberta Cancer Foundation
- Serve as an editor for the Foundation - reviewing and editing content to ensure consistent and accurate brand voice and tone

**Communications**
- Support the execution of communications strategies for Foundation initiatives
- Support internal communications activities, such as developing and editing content and using communications channels including Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint.
- Assist with media relations efforts as required

**Required Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, including business, marketing, communications, and/or a combination of education, experience and training acceptable to the Foundation
- Strong writing and editing skills and an understanding of the Canadian Press style required
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Previous fundraising experience considered an asset
- Clear criminal record check
- Exceptional writing and editing abilities (and a genuine love of it).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and respond quickly to multiple priorities.
- Understanding of brand standards - visual, voice and tone
- Experience using Canva for design.
- Experience supporting internal communications efforts (this is a bonus).
- The ability to manage a flexible schedule and a desire in your heart to make a difference for Albertans facing cancer.
