At Vicwest we are "Building for Tomorrow", We are currently looking for a **CAD Designer** for our **Burlington office**.

Since 1930, Vicwest has been North America’s metal structure experts - engineering and manufacturing metal roofing and wall systems that withstand our harshest climates. Not only are our products environmentally friendly, but our aim is to produce them in the most environmentally responsible way.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s best known building materials suppliers as it embarks on a significant growth journey through new product launches & market penetration. As part of the Kingspan Group, Vicwest has an ambitious sustainability program revolving around the impact of building materials on the environment.

**Position Summary**:
The CAD Designer will report directly to the Drafting Manager and is responsible for preparing shop drawings and bills of material for building products.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Prepares shop drawings for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings including metal wall/roof cladding, architectural wall/roof panels, and floor/roof decking. Which are based on drafting standards and templates.
- Prepares bills of material and other documentation required for manufacturing.
- Ensures compliance with approved design standards and engineering principles.
- Clearly communicates and collaborates with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and peers.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education in Civil or Architectural Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in drafting building envelopes required.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla and MS Office.
- Attention to detail as well as an ability to analyze and solve technical problems.
- Sense of urgency towards meeting deadlines.
- Specialized courses in drafting, design, building science, and/or engineering practices are considered an asset.
- French is considered an asset.
