The Edmonton Police Service requires an individual to provide coordination of the GAP19 program. The GAP19 Coordinator will act as the program lead for the collaborative court ordered day program for justice involved young people. Responsibilities will include:

- Through intense relationship building, maintain partnerships with Alberta Health Services, YMCA, Correctional Service Division, Institutional Service Schools, and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society
- Coordinate GAP19 intake process and pre/post assessments
- Schedule and attend all case conferences for potential youth applicants
- Oversee tracking of attendance records for court purposes
- Ensure all policies and procedures of the program are up to date and followed by all involved
- Manage youth attendance and adherence and reporting to various court orders
- Create schedules for program delivery (education, skill training and outdoor education)
- Support Facilitators and Outreach Workers working within the program
- Ensure policy and procedures are in place and being followed to ensure safety of staff and youth participants
- Seek additional programming and work experience options for youth transitioning out of the GAP19 program
- Provide a consistent connection between EPS and Youth Justice organizations
- Offer qualitative and quantitative outcome data to a variety of progress reporting systems
- Provide a deep understanding of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)

**Qualifications**:

- University Graduation in criminal justice, or relevant human services field
- Minimum, 3 years’ experience working with high-risk individuals
- Experience working directly within a youth custodial setting
- Strong understanding the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and youth court orders
- Experience with risk management; including client and staff safety, confidentiality, and duty of care
- Knowledge of diverse youth service providers in the City of Edmonton
- Understanding of the complexities of high-risk youth and families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- General computer and justice data base knowledge
- Strong de-escalation skills and experience
- Trained in Trauma Informed Practices
- Well versed in Excel and PowerPoint programs
- Report writing and grant writing experience
- Competency in current evidence-based practices in relation to the scope of work
- Experience with program delivery through a client-centered lens
- A valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Driver’s License. Must also have access to own vehicle and provide written proof of current public liability and property damage insurance to minimum of $1,000,00A
- Applicants must be tested and able to obtain a city driver’s license
- Must provide out of province driver’s abstract (if applicable)
- As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

**Salary Range**:21B, Salary Grade 021, $34.78 - $43.72 (Hourly), $2,782.70 - $3,497.70 (Bi-Weekly), $72,628.99 - $91,289.45 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton
