**What you’ll be doing**:
- Develop, establish and maintain high quality service, culinary standards and operations for the patient dining and commercial operations including the cafeteria, catering and vending in the Health Centre
- Provide leadership, direction, management, training and coaching to the supervisors and unionized nutrition services team
- Collaborate and consult with clinical staff, including Registered Dietitians, to meet the needs of patients with specialized dietary requirements
- Manage allergies, special diets, food safety and quality through a complex system of control points
- Manage food requisitions, purchases, capital planning for equipment and inventory control for food and beverage supplies
- Maintain staffing levels to ensure effective, consistent and safe daily activities
- Oversee adherence to Infection Control, Occupational Health and Safety, Safe Food Handling and applicable legislative and Health Centre policies, procedures and collective agreements, interacting with Public Health as needed
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and staff are aware, trained and adhere to the safe operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and tools
- Establish and maintain regular cleaning, inspections, maintenance and repair schedules for all kitchen areas and equipment

- Initiate relevant continuous quality improvement activities
- Participate in the development of annual operating and capital budgets then manage and monitor the budgets to ensure effective cost control measures are in place and financial targets are achieved
- Source and develop partnerships with local suppliers and in partnership with Purchasing, negotiate contracts and costs as needed
- Liaise with the U of G Masters of Nutrition Program and other affiliated programs
**What we’re looking for**:
- Degree in Nutrition Science or a diploma in Food and Nutrition Management
- Member of Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) and/or active member of the College of Dietitians
- Red Seal Certification and/or cultural culinary knowledge would be an asset
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a health care facility where quality is a requirement; experience in a specialized setting with knowledge of addiction and/or mental health would be an asset
- Experience managing in a unionized environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food sensitivities and experience with menu planning/creation/costing, meal planning and food preparation
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration and clear communication skills, able to interact with staff and patients to build trust and develop rapport
- Strong financial management and accountability
