**Schedule**:
The schedule works on a consistent two week rotation.

Approximately 30-40 hours a week

Week 1
- Tuesday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Wednesday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Thursday - 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday - 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Saturday - 9:00am - 4:30pm

Week 2
- Mondy - 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Tuesday - 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Wednesday - 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Thursday - 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Friday - 9:00am - 4:30pm

**Cheesemaking Assistant Role**:

- Part-time or full-time position
- $16.00 to $18.00/hr based on experience
- 4% Vacation Pay on top of regular wages
- Opportunities for more hours and responsibilities

**Cheesemaking Assistant Duties Include**:

- Cheesemaking (cutting, stirring, salting, forming and pressing cheese)
- Operating the Butter Churn
- Forming butter into blocks
- Cleaning (operating industrial dishwasher, washing delicate pieces by hand, cleaning large pieces of equipment through out the day)
- Washing light industrial equipment with foaming cleanser and brush
- Sanitizing workspace and equipment
- Setting up production equipment
- Following food safety program
- Following workplace safety program
- Safe chemical handling practices
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work on your feet

**About the job**:
As a Cheesemaking Assistant you will be involved in each step in the life cycle of our cheese, with a particular focus on cleaning and sanitation, cheesemaking and butter making.

You will be a part of the small team responsible for making all the different varieties of cheese we produce, time management and a hard working attitude are a must. You should feel comfortable working independently and using light industrial equipment including cleaning systems and a butter churn, or willing to learn these skills.

Cheesemaking is a challenging and rewarding career requiring physical strength and critical thinking. You will spend the majority of the day on your feet and after a day of making cheese you will be tired but filled with gratification. The best part of the job is seeing and touching the products of your labour: high quality, delicious artisan cheese you get to share with friends and family along with the story of how you made it.

You should also have an appropriate respect for food safety and sanitary food handling skills; milk and cheese are highly susceptible to contamination and we must always be mindful of all critical control points in our processes.
