**Duties**:
Join the Fight Against Financial Crime The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) is at the forefront of ensuring the safety of Canadians and the integrity of Canada’s financial system. As Canada’s financial intelligence unit and AML/ATF supervisor, FINTRAC helps combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and threats to the security of Canada.
Description of the Deputy Director role:
As a senior executive with FINTRAC, you play a crucial role in shaping the direction and success of the organization, requiring a combination of strategic vision, leadership skills, and operational expertise. Your leadership sets the tone for the organizational culture, promoting values such as integrity, innovation, and collaboration; you are responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction in alignment with the organization's overall mandate goals You ensure the development of strategies/priorities/plans and mobilization of the personnel in implementing tactical, strategic and operational policy plans and processes designed to enhance FINTRAC’s capacity to combat money laundering, terrorist activity financing or other activities posing a threat to the security of Canada.
You are accountable to implement a risk-based approach tailoring strategy and tactical responses to fit the assessed risks. As a FINTRAC senior executive you are expected to work with other colleagues to ensure alignment and collaboration across the organization. You may also be required to lead or participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives. You are responsible to drive innovation and growth, identifying new opportunities for expansion/modernization as well foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage creative thinking. You are responsible to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
You are expected to provide executive leadership in establishing positive /collaborative relationships (both domestically and internationally) with various partners, stakeholders and reporting entities. You are responsible to provide a continued policy lens, operational expertise and leadership on evolving legislative/regulatory/policy issues to support and advance the achievement of the Centre’s vision, objectives and goals, and ensure that legal thresholds established by legislation for disclosures are always met.
Senior executives at FINTRAC play a critical role in guiding the organization towards its strategic objectives, requiring a combination of visionary leadership, operational expertise, and strong interpersonal skills.
