**Summary/Objective**

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for working closely with our vendor partners and our internal/ external customers in ensuring that all purchase orders are processed in a timely manner. This role is responsible for buying products, providing product requirement guidance to Production and Quality Control, and following through on fulfillment of each purchase. The Purchasing Agent will also be responsible to provide guidance and best business practices as well as negotiate pricing with our vendor partners.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Understands all lines assigned to purchase; builds the best relationship with the vendors and ensures all daily commitments to the supply chains are met including, but not limited to, inventory replenishment and branch requests.
- Reviews items for replenishment from vendors and expediting vendor Pos.
- Pre-books products on the basis of demand forecast provided to the individual.
- Ensures costing is up to date with costs & quotes.
- Understands the impact of Accounts Payable to PO variances and works with Finance to resolve effectively.
- Consistently displays a customer service attitude toward the branches and demonstrates the ability to identify areas for improvement and suggests solutions to meet the customer and branch expectations.
- Represents the company in a professional manner ensuring quality customer service.
- Abides by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.

**Qualifications**
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma in the supply chain, operations or business with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in purchasing/ buying or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrates price negotiation and analytical skills.
- Very strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, able to identify issues, propose viable solutions, and implement appropriate changes.
- High attention to detail with time management skills.
- Results-oriented and organized, focused on producing high-quality work within tight timelines.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills and high customer service focus.
- High energy team player, with a positive can-do attitude, flexible and adaptable to change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Access, Outlook required.

**Supervisory Responsibility**
- This position has no direct reports.

**Work Environment**

Office environment with regular desk duties with exposure to:

- sitting at length;
- computer usage requiring manual dexterity for typing and visual concentration on screens.

**Expected Hours of Work**
- This is a regular full-time position with 40 hours of work in a week.
