**About the role**:
At Sun Life the delivery of technology solutions is critical to our overall business strategies. Technology must be delivered quickly, reliably, and securely while demonstrating effective risk management to our Clients, Shareholders, and Regulators. We are looking for a **Manager, SDLC Governance** to join the Global Value Realization Office (VRO), a team whose focus is supporting and sustaining a company-wide transformation in the ways we work.

The outstanding person who joins our team will be focused on enabling and supporting the delivery of initiatives by providing leadership, support, and oversight for our System and Software Development Life Cycle frameworks. Teams use a variety of delivery methods (ex. Agile, Lean Incremental, Waterfall) and look to the Global VRO to provide clear guidance on how to navigate the organizational controls and efficiently deliver their outcomes. Because of this need it is critical that this person be skilled in collaborating across a complex matrix organization, understanding governance requirements, and teaching others.

**What you will be doing**:

- Act as the owner for our SDLC frameworks and ensure they reflect the needs of the organization, are easily accessible, and are well understood by our delivery community.
- Be an expert in our technical processes, procedures, tools, who can support our delivery teams by providing coaching, mentorship, and training that improves shared knowledge of Sun Life’s SDLC processes and requirements.
- Implement and facilitate a community where practice owners across Sun Life collaborate on the maintenance and improvement of our SDLC frameworks based on feedback or gaps identified from quality reviews.
- Drive and participate in initiatives that target unnecessary process burden for teams and that reflect the needs of our evolving organization. This includes identifying and testing possible solutions, supporting communication, training, and monitoring to ensure long-term success.
- Support the creation and execution of communication plans related to the new controls, methods, or tools being rolled out.
- Partner with other similar roles from across the organization to ensure consistency in methods and share best practices in the frameworks used.
- Identify analytic opportunities and establish ongoing monitoring that provides data driven insights
- Partner with global teams such as Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to interpret incoming risks, issues, policies, standards, and implement actions to update our SDLC frameworks.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- 7+ years of experience in an IT Governance or Oversight role with exposure to developing and deploying initiative/ project standard methodologies, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Expert knowledge of System Development and Software Development Life Cycle and relevant processes and artifacts
- Expert knowledge of the standards, best practices, and tools for a variety of delivery methodologies including Waterfall, Lean Incremental, Agile, and Scaled Agile.
- A very strong collaborator who easily establishes relationships across an organization to support questioning the status-quo, the development of solutions, and information sharing
- An ability to translate complex ideas into actionable and teachable concepts
- Someone who prioritizes learning and the expansion of their knowledge and skills

**Nice to have**:

- COBIT certification
- A skilled Agile Coach or IT Project Manager
- Lean Process Design training and hands on experience with process improvement
- Experience in delivering trainings to a variety of audience
