We are seeking a youth employee (Canada Summer Jobs Placement)

**Health Promotion Program Officer**

Placement: June 17, 2024 - August 9, 2024 (flexible start and end date)

Rate of pay: $17.00/hour for 35 hours/week commitment.

This position is being funded through a Canada Summer Jobs grant.

The Centre de santé communautaire CHIGAMIK Community Health Centre is a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing bilingual and culturally sensitive primary health care, illness prevention and health promotion.

To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative you must be between the ages of 15 and 30.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in progress; preferably in health promotion or other allied health studies.
- Good critical thinking, assessment and problem solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and work well independently with little to no direction required.
- Excellent people skills.
- Knowledge of/experience working with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit and/or Francophone individuals and communities is preferred.
- A current Criminal Record Check is required upon start of employment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the core team in the implementation of the program operational plan with a community development perspective.
- Assist with workshops and presentations to provide health promotion and cultural programming.
- Assist with community needs assessments and gap analysis.
- Assist in evaluation of core programs and services through completion of client satisfaction surveys.
- Assist clients, community partners and staff in social prescribing initiatives.
- Assist with intake of new community program participants and primary care clients.
- Assist in research and grant initiatives.
- Assist in organizational extended demographic data collection and quality improvement initiatives.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Études postsecondaires en cours; de préférence en promotion de la santé ou dans un autre domaine d’études paramédicales.
- Bonnes compétences en pensée critique, évaluation et résolution de problèmes.
- Aptitude à travailler en équipe multidisciplinaire de manière efficace et de façon autonome avec peu ou pas de surveillance.
- Excellentes aptitudes interpersonnelles.
- La connaissance de personnes et de communautés des Premières nations, Métis et Inuit et/ou francophones ou de l’expérience auprès de celles-ci est préférée.
- Une vérification récente du casier judiciaire est nécessaire au début de l’emploi.

**Responsabilités**:

- Aider l’équipe principale à mettre en œuvre le plan d’exploitation de programme selon une perspective de développement communautaire.
- Aider à l’offre d’ateliers et de présentations pour la prestation des programmes culturels et de promotion de la santé.
- Aider à tenir la communauté au courant des activités et des succès au moyen des médias sociaux (site Web, courriel, Twitter, Facebook, Mail Chimp) et des médias traditionnels (presse écrite, radio).
- Aider à effectuer les évaluations des besoins de la communauté et les analyses des lacunes.
- Aider à évaluer les principaux programmes et services au moyen de la réalisation d’enquêtes de satisfaction des clients.
- Aider les clients, les partenaires communautaires et le personnel dans le cadre de projets de prescription sociale.
- Aider à l’inscription de nouveaux participants aux programmes communautaires et de clients de soins primaires.
- Aider aux projets subventionnés et de recherche.
- Aider à la collecte de données démographiques organisationnelles étendues et aux projets d’amélioration de la qualité.
- Effectuer toute autre tâche confiée.
