Simulation Coordinator, Urology

**Reporting**:
The Simulation Coordinator reports to the Program Director.
**Responsibilities**:
**Summary of Functions**:
In conjunction with the Academic Coordinator, the Simulation Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organizing, coordinating, and quality of all simulation sessions for the Urology program.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordinating, developing, and overseeing the simulation sessions for Urology residents as part of the regular academic curriculum.
- Collaborating with other faculty members to develop simulation sessions.
- Assuring the quality, responsiveness, and relevancy of the simulation sessions regarding residents’ needs
- Monitoring the content and evaluations of the simulation sessions
- Liaising with Residency Program Committee (RPC) to discuss simulation session content.
- Identifying faculty development needs for simulation education
- Mandatory attendance at required committees (RPC and Competence Committee) and participation in program activities (retreats, CaRMS process)
- Reviewing the program content at least annually with the Academic Coordinator and or RPC to ensure academic accountability and that accreditation standards of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) are met
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- A physician licensed in Ontario, practicing in Northern Ontario, with certification from the RCPSC (or equivalent as determined by the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education
- A current faculty appointment (or eligibility for same) with NOSM University
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Substantial knowledge of, and exposure to, the issues faced by regional and rural medical education
- Significant experience in the health care and academic sectors
- Self-motivated and directed
- Superior interpersonal, communication, management and problem-solving skills
**Language**:
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension)
- French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset
**Remuneration**:
- As per the stipendiary faculty remuneration process
**Time Commitment**:
- Two (2.0) days per month
