Position Description:
Serco is seeking an
**Experienced Fi**
**nancial Analyst** to work in partnership with our program operations team and be a key contributor in month end financial close, forecasting, profit & loss statement analysis, and reporting. This role calls for a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. In this role, you will:

- Oversee the financial operation and planning and analysis in support of contract delivery.
- Partners with the program director and all stakeholders on solving all operational and financial issues.
- Ensures compliance with all Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures.
- Provide support in the following areas:

- Business Partnering
- Be the liaison for Project Managers to create and maintain informative and correct financial reports.
- Collaborate and resolve any client financial issues and responds to questions related to the project financials
- Works closely with procurement and subcontractors to ensure cost are accurately forecasted and recorded.
- Support organic growth on business by providing bid supports such as cost solutions and pricing build-up.
- Complete other administrative tasks as needed by contract team.
- Project Accounting
- Perform month end close, cost control, project accounting in support of project delivery.
- Understand POC accounting and various billing methodologies and completes timely and accurate revenue recognitions
- Closely track contract fundings and ensures compliance with contractual and commercial requirements.
- Accountable for contract DSO target, reconciles receivables, and resolves issues preventing timely payment of invoices.
- Monitor status of third-party supplier and subcontractor invoices to ensure timely processing of costs.
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Owns program budget and forecasting and performs in-depth variance analysis vs. plan/LBE
- Assists Sr. Manager, BU Finance in developing, implementing, and managing internal procedures/controls and business plans to meet department and country wide goals.
- Support internal audit activities and initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for project teams and management as required.
- A high level of proficiency in the use of Excel, as well as financial modelling experience.
- Ensures compliance with all Serco internal control procedures and policies.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Canadian Citizenship
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years post university work experience in similar role
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
- Excellent working knowledge of personal computers and automated systems including spreadsheet modelling
- Strong understanding of project accounting is desired
