Mobile Reefer Technician

The Role:
Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of components on truck and trailer refrigeration units.

Maintaining transport refrigeration units on trucks and trailers by performing diagnostics.

Completing preventive maintenance, component replacement, and repairs to refrigeration equipment.

Maintains transport truck and trailer refrigeration units by reviewing orders, listening to operator complaints, and repairing failures.

Removing, replacing, testing for Freon leaks, assembling, and installing parts and components involving soldering, welding, and the use of refrigeration equipment

Work with limited supervision and organize workload

Operate mobile service unit and perform scheduled servicing at customer locations

Order necessary parts from parts department

Identifying and capturing warranty parts

Ensure work orders and paperwork are detailed, accurate and timely

Maintain mobile unit, tools, equipment, and parts inventory

Promote a safe work environment, follow safety standards at all times and ensure timely reporting of any Health and Safety issues

**Requirements**:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in transport refrigeration preferred

Ozone Depletion Prevention Certification310T or 310J License would be considered an asset

Able to use all tools needed for refrigeration repairs

Ability to use computerized maintenance systems for work order entry

Good communication skillsStrong technical skills related to refrigeration units

Fluent in reading and writing in EnglishAbility to work independently

Major Physical Demands:

- Frequently lifting/carrying a maximum of 60 lbs
- Occasionally pushing/pulling/lifting a maximum of 100 lbs. (with the aid of a mechanical device)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brantford, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- refrigerated trailer body repair: 3 years (required)
- reefer system repair: 3 years (preferred)
