Exterior Maintenance Technician

The Exterior Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds of the buildings and properties on behalf of York Property Management. The Exterior Maintenance Technician works in collaboration with other Exterior Maintenance Technicians and reports to the Maintenance Manager. This position requires 24/7 on call for snow removal duties during the winter season.

Hours assigned are dependent on the weather conditions.

**Responsibilities**

1. Maintain exterior grounds of the property

During Winter Season:

- Perform snow removal duties using snow plow, sidewalk tractors/ snow blowers, shovels, and salters as required
- Maintain and initiate repair on all snow equipment
- Maintain Snow Plow vehicle
- Be aware of changing winter weather conditions and ensure availability to perform snow removal all season, day or night
- Ensure York Property Management grounds are cleared and salted as required

During Spring/Summer/Fall Season:

- Removing waste and debris from lawn and parking lots
- Raking leaves, grass, installing mulch
- Cutting grass and mowing lawns
- Edging grass along sidewalks
- Planting flowers and wedding flower beds
- Trimming and removing trees
- Repairing fences
- Painting fences or exterior
- Repairing signage
- Maintain and initiate repair on all lawn equipment
- Maintain landscape vehicle

2. Perform administrative duties

Main activities:

- Keep daily log of tasks completed in work orders on Propertyware
- Maintaining daily snow log per property
- Maintain equipment and tools
- Communicating with Supervisor and Site Staff
- Follow work order instructions

3. Perform other duties as instructed/ required

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

The employee must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

- Experience using snow removal equipment, including sidewalk tractors/ snow blowers and salters etc.
- Knowledge of landscaping equipment
- Knowledge of safe operation of landscaping equipment
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Knowledge of when to contact qualified service personnel
- Current and unrestricted Driver’s license

- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Time management skills
