We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable custodian to join our rapidly growing team. The custodian is responsible in ensuring the overall cleanliness of our facilities to the highest level. This includes using cleaning chemicals to maintain equipment and other supplies while dusting, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning restrooms.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Keep building and property in clean and orderly condition;
- Perform routine maintenance activities;
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuums, wax and shampoo floors;
- Gathers and empties trash;
- Scrub, sanitize, and supply restroom facilities;
- Dust furniture, walls, and equipment;
- Clean snow and ice from exits, walkways and parking areas;
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures;
- May move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies;
- Perform various preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on various facility systems;
- Model KGM values of Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Grace-led, & Transformation;
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Position Requirements**
- Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
- Formal training or a certificate from a program in building or general maintenance is an asset.
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively throughout your shift
- WHMIS and knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal is an asset
- Will be required to use PPE
- Commercial and residential cleaning experience is an asset
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- This position is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector).
- Days are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8am to 2pm (18 hours per week)
- Bay Ave operates an overdose prevention site with supervised consumption.
- The starting wage for this position is $23.26 per hour less applicable statutory deductions and benefits after six months.
