Title: Manager, Women’s Participation
Reports to: Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Safe Sport
Location: Golf Canada Head Office/Remote
Status: Full-Time
Ideal Start Date: January 2023
**OVERVIEW**:
**PRIMARY DUTIES**:
**Women’s Festival Events 70%**
- Execute Awareness and First Involvement events that introduce women and girls to golf in a fun, non-intimidating and low-pressure environment.
- Work with host clubs and facilities to schedule events.
- Develop and execute a strategy to recruit participants and reach targets as identified.
- Organize, schedule and execute successful events (inclusive of venue, instructors, activations, volunteers, gifting and logistics etc.)
- Work with the marketing department, partnership team and program sponsors to ensure all terms of the agreements are fulfilled successfully.
- Collect and assemble program data and metrics.
- Continually update the website to communicate the program details effectively (i.e. registration of a site, etc.)
- Design and implement an annual promotion strategy inclusive of marketing and promotional materials on an annual basis.
- Manage program coordinators/volunteers; provide excellent customer service/correspondence with coordinators, courses, and participants.
- Develop program kits and ensure supplies are ordered and shipped in a timely manner.
- Organize, formulate and execute recreational events for women and girls that will address gaps in the participation pathway to encourage continuous engagement in golf.
- Work with host clubs and facilities to schedule clinics and events that focus on FUNdamentals of golf.
- Schedule training and education sessions to develop more women leaders and role models in the game.
- Liaise with women contractors and professionals to lead program delivery.
- Promote opportunities for continued engagement and track participant data.
- Work with First Tee-Canada team to collaborate on girls-only programming.
- Engage with the marketing and partnerships teams to ensure terms of partnership agreements are fulfilled.
- Develop program kits for distribution to partners looking to execute similar events.
**Growing Female Participation 30%**
- Study the current golf environment of female participation in Canada
- Lead and facilitate the Gender Equity Playbook in partnership with Canadian Women & Sport (develop and onboard working group, ensure accurate communications between all parties, facilitate Gender Equity Sport Assessment Tool, and Action Planning Sessions)
- Manage the Gender Equity Playbook action plan (based on established recommendations)
- Build, launch and own a new female participation strategy/pilot program that aligns with the DEI strategic plan and the R&A Women in Golf Charter (data collection, development and planning, marketing, communications, and partnerships)
- Work with key industry stakeholders and provincial associations to ensure alignment on participation tactics for women and girls
- Organization lead for Women in Sport and Events (manage roster and internal communications)
- Internal lead for RBCCO x WISE event
- Develop female golf participation in Canada report to share with key industry stakeholders
- Implement any new initiatives, programs, or tactics to grow the sport of golf in Canada
- Responsible for recruiting and managing Female Participation Intern
**REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES**:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in sport management, business, related field, or equivalent experience. - Willingness to travel is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under time restrictions.
- Flexibility and demonstrated ability to be a team player.
- Experience is event planning and operation is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Bilingual (English and French) is not required but is considered an asset.
- Golf knowledge or experience is not required but is considered an asset.
NOTE: The Golf Canada's regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, namely Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day and 5 days a week including a one-hour lunch. However, the demands of your position may mean that your hours of work will vary, may be irregular and will be the hours required to meet the objectives of your employment.
