**As a new Recreation Supervisor & Volunteer Coordinator joining our village, you will**:
Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver and support a comprehensive volunteer engagement program to our residents. You will work as key members of our village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’, neighbourhood and overall village needs to development volunteer engagement programs that enhance village life.

**As a new Recreation Supervisor & Volunteer Coordinator you will**:

- Hold a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
- Work closely with our Director of Recreation to engage our residents, team members and wider local community and corporate service partners.
- Work every other weekend and rotational on-call as needed
- Have experience leading and supporting a team with hands-on training, coaching and supervision
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents
- Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members

**As a new Recreation Supervisor joining our Village Team it would be an ASSET but not required for you to having the following**:

- Hold a Certificate in Volunteer Management or demonstrate relevant experience
- Experience with shift scheduling, department spending and budget
- Skills Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
- Experience facilitating group activities and programs
- Experience auditing and evaluating documentation capturing residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in order to identify where programs can be improved to support the development of recreation
- Have exceptional time management skills
- Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
- Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health
- A current Heart Save level of CPR/First Aide (or a willingness to obtain)
- Experience supporting volunteers in a social service setting
