Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager ensures that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. This individual is responsible for managing the organizations quality assurance policies and controlling new product development processes. The QA Manager will also establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company operations.
Job Duties
Provide leadership developing and directing QA and quality improvement initiatives for all company products and services.
- Monitor QA systems and advise executive team on system performance; publish statistics regarding performance against set goals.
- Perform gap analysis between applicable and current ISO standards; establish and implement a quality plan to bring the company into ISO compliance.
- Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures.
- Collaborate with client-facing QA representatives to ensure full customer satisfaction with the company's products and services.
- Establish and maintain a QA program for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers.
- Conduct risk analyses, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews, as applicable.
- Support new product development and continuous improvement and by integrating quality control tools into processes.
- Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
- Act as liaison with customer auditors and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with customer specifications.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.
- Persuade staff to adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work.
- Create and maintain QA control documentation.
- Identify relevant QA training needs and opportunities.
- Maintain a constant awareness of company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
- Inspect components using handheld precision measurement tools including, but not limited to Vernier calipers, inside and outside micrometers, height gages, thread gages and gage blocks.
- Review drawings and CAV bubble drawings and inspection reports prior to inspection of components for comprehension and asks any question(s) relevant before inspection commences.
- Input measured data into the inspection report and sign off on the dimension in the appropriate box in the report. Where the report asks for the Gage ID or measurement equipment this information MUST also be entered by the inspector for traceability.
- Adhere to the standard operating procedures, where applicable to that job, prior to starting the work.
- Review inspection reports thoroughly for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to QA management.
- Sign and date forms and reports where appropriate, sign the job traveler and manufacturing process plan after completing a task or operation.
- Preserve the documentation of the part by ensuring all documentation is organized in the job package. Job packages should be returned to the QA manager immediately if not in use or after an operation is completed.
- If trained in the use of the Faro and Leica AT901-LR laser measurement tracker, become familiar with its operation and maintenance requirements.
- Identify out of tolerance dimensions during inspection in relation to industry standards and specifications.
- Properly identifies out of tolerance components with a red tag as outlined in our quality management system and understands the importance of the use of these tags.
- Read and adhere to JTL’s quality policy.
- Become familiar with JTL’s quality management system including UniPoint and Job Boss, you should be able to explain the information on the shop travelers and NCRs
- Become familiar with JTL’s calibration system and procedures.
- Take all necessary actions to prevent an escaping defect from JTL.
**Salary**: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
