The Child and Youth Worker will work with the Community Outreach Coordinator to provide our core programs throughout the community. They will assist with the case management duties of the Community Outreach Coordinator. This role will build on experience from various social work/child care programs and give hands on experience to pursue their career. Our core programs are one-to-one community-based mentoring programs including Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Big Couples, PRISM and Intergenerational Mentoring. Currently, we serve over 20 young people between the ages of 6 and 16-years-old in these programs. Each of these youths meet with a community volunteer on a weekly basis to do activities that align with their interests and goals. All of our volunteers and mentees are supported by our Mentoring Coordinator who monitors matches for safety and progress.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain case files in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality as outlined in agency Privacy and Confidentiality Policy
- Perform administrative functions as required to manage caseload
- Liaise with schools, other youth service agencies, other community groups, clubs or the public in general as required
- Assist with recreation and fundraising events
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate in a related College or University program is an asset
- Current First Aid or additional training is an asset
- Driver's License and access to a vehicle and able to travel within Muskoka to meet with clients is an asset

- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment Footnote2, and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 16 weeks

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
