The Licence Suspension Appeal Board (LSAB) provides an appeal process in cases where a person’s driver’s licence has been suspended by the Court or by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles. In making their decisions, the Board must ensure that in all cases a remission of the suspension would not be contrary to the public interest and that exceptional hardship will result if the suspension remains in effect.

The Medical Review Committee (MRC) provides an appeal process in cases where a person’s driver’s licence has been suspended, cancelled or refused on medical grounds. In making their decisions, the Committee must ensure that in all cases the safety of the general public is considered above the exceptional hardship that will result if the suspension, cancellation or refusal to issue a licence remains in effect.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be able to communicate fluently (verbal and written) in English and French

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Experience performing clerical and administrative duties in an office environment such as data entry, preparing specialized or highly complex documents and processing detailed documentation and manual and electronic file maintenance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage deadlines.
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent verbal communication skills in French.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong written communication skills in French.
- Strong written communication skills in English.

**Desired**:

- Experience working with the public in front-line customer service oriented environment.

**Duties**:
Under the general supervision of the Board Administrator of the Licence Suspension Appeal Board and Medical Review Committee, the Board Clerk is required to perform a variety of clerical duties as well as provide service to clients in person or over the telephone. The Board Clerk reports directly to the Board Administrator and receives most supervision from that position, however, the incumbent is expected to work independently and on own initiative. The Board Administrator or the Assistant Board Administrator will advise the incumbent of items/tasks that are either out of the ordinary or required immediately. The incumbent is expected to organize the time spent on deadlines and assignments while completing day-to-day functions according to the schedule.
