The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.

**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the zonal Director, Interprofessional Practice and Learning (IPP&L), the Manager provides leadership for the strategic direction for IPP&L projects within the Simulation Learning program of care. The Manager is responsible for ensuring required resources are available to develop and deliver responsive, flexible, and innovative approaches to delivering Simulation Learning throughout western zone. The Manager is responsible for engaging in collaborative conversations and strategic planning with stakeholders in order to contribute to the learning health system that supports effective learner experiences throughout the province.

Working in partnership with the Director, senior leaders and staff, the Manager takes a leadership role in developing a learning health system that reflects the needs of learners and employees with a focus on interprofessional learning and collaboration and clinical leadership.

The Manager ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of excellence within their areas of responsibility and is accountable for the development, maintenance and monitoring of nursing placements, in compliance with academic requirements, standards and accreditation requirements. The Manager facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health and may work closely with the Director to connect with education institutions, government and other partners. They also works with IWK and the Continuing Care Sector as appropriate.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Master’s degree in health profession, health administration, education or related field; or equivalent education and experience required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in education required
- Minimum of 3 years progressive leadership experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of practice in related discipline required
- Experience in engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives an organization
- Experience in initiating, leading, and managing organizational change, and complex work
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with ability to interpret program evaluation data to inform quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and negotiating skills with the ability to develop and sustain alliances with the academic and health care sectors
- Experience working with diversity of learners, staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity and social inclusion.
- Sound knowledge of information and learning systems.
- Experience in financial planning and human resource management
- Contributes to the development of strategic vision and manages operational plans to ensure the provision of safe, high quality and sustainable services in collaboration with the program’s management team and appropriate stakeholders.
