The Alberta Medical Association is recruiting for the temporary position of **Liaison, Health System Transformation. **The role is temporary till September 30, 2024, with the possibility of extension_._

In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Director, Health System Transformation, to implement the direction and initiatives of the HST branch. You will do this by maintaining a “big picture” orientation that consistently looks to integrate information, ideas and strategies across branches, projects and initiatives.

**HST Overview**

The Health System Transformation branch represents the AMA’s interests by supporting physicians in their role as leaders within the health care system. This includes facilitating the development, integration and implementation of innovations in health care delivery by working with and providing support to various provincial health strategic initiatives, including but not limited to advancing the Patients Medical Home and integration with the health neighborhood.

It also has the responsibility for the management and operations of the AMA's Accelerating Change Transformation Team (ACTT).

**Position Overview**

As the **Liaison, Health System Transformation (HST),** reporting to the Senior Director, HST, you will support and/or manage work and tasks arising from HST projects and initiatives; ensuring HST is able to meet strategic objectives and achieve desired results and outcomes for members.

In this role, you will:

- Provide proactive support to the Senior Director by coordinating work, following up on deliverables, monitoring and managing flow of information within the HST branch, ensuring time schedules and mandates are met.
- Manage assigned deliverables and/or projects within the HST branch.
- Provide advice to Senior Director on project delivery, strategic and operational agenda planning, communications, consultation, and change management.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of meeting records and decision logs for director (operational and strategic), and follow-up on meeting actions and communications.
- Attends meetings with external stakeholders (AH, AHS, etc.) on behalf of the Senior Director, HST, representing the AMA and bringing forward AMA’s perspective.
- Liaise and build rapport with key strategic stakeholders within the province to support health initiatives.
- Preparation of reports/papers, presentations and other business documents for Board, Government and other stakeholders as requested by the Senior Director, HST.
- Assessing the relative priority and strategic significance of discussions arising from committee/working group meetings, identifying to the Senior Director items to bring forward to SMT, Board or other stakeholders.

**Education and Experience**
- Undergraduate degree in health care, health sciences, business or related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- At least 10 years of experience within health care including:

- working with physicians both as clinicians and as administrative leaders
- Business administration/operational leadership
- Project management
- Leading change management and/or improvement initiatives.
- stakeholder engagement and relations
- Experience working as a clinician in a professional capacity is an asset.

**Skills**
- Able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the complexities of the Alberta health care system.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; able to adapt messages based on the key audience. Able to simplify complex concepts.
- Strategic Planning
- Ability to lead sessions that reach consensus and/or collaborative outcomes.
- Demonstrated competence in Change Management, quality improvement methodologies, performance measurement, and clinical informatics.
- Able to rapidly assess and understand situations.
- Able to work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work within a changing environment.

The salary for this role will be between $96,107 - $124,939.
