**Duties**:
Reports to the Manager of Environmental Services. Responsible for the monitoring and co-ordination of legislative compliance within Environmental Services.

**Work Performed**:

- Monitors day to day water operations and produce, review and analyze all required municipal water compliance reports.
- Ensures test results are reported in accordance with Corporate policy and provincial regulations.
- Coordinates annual or other inspections and ensure related reporting requirements are met.
- Operates and maintains equipment and machines required to carry out job duties, including data logger, chlorine tester, turbidity meter, spectrophotometer, gas detector, pumps, programmable logic controllers, modems, and SCADA system.
- Provides technical support to division staff responsible for water sampling, monitoring processes and operational checks.
- Liaises with Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Health representatives as required, and participate on Corporate and Division teams in the operation and review of the municipal water system.
- Provides input on division budget with respect to compliance issues.
- Recommend and co-ordinate the creation, implementation and auditing of programs, plans, policies, and procedures to comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal legislative requirements for environmental operations
- Maintains statistical data and departmental records, including training, compiles information and prepares technical and other reports as required.
- Maintain, update, and provide training on the Drinking Water Quality Management System.
- Prepares specifications and tender documents for water projects and water related contract work.
- Refers special and/or unusual situations to the Manager for direction.
- Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Community College Diploma (3 years) in Environmental Technology or equivalent education.
- Minimum 6-12 months related professional experience.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class G).

**Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications**
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, Dbase, Wonderware, Hydraulic Monitoring Programs.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Environment Acts and Regulations including, but not limited to, the Safe Drinking Water Act, Clean Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, O. Regulation 170/03, O. Regulation 128/04.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain water testing equipment and machinery.
