Number of positions: 1
All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2023.
Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 35 hours per week.
Hourly Wage: $17.00 per hour
Term: May 9 to August 25, 2023

**Responsibilities**:
Provide support to the Communications Officer, Strategic Planning Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant on tasks assigned by the Mayor, members of Council, and the Chief Administrative Officer. Tasks to expect include:

- Developing and revising resident information materials for the department
- Updating and creating new content for the website and social media pages, and responding to incoming inquiries as directed
- Support the strategic priority development process for the new members of Council
- Support the planning of seasonal events, namely the summer municipal community days
- To be a representative of the City of Cornwall and maintain outstanding public relations skills and professional image at all times
- All other duties as assigned
- Pursuing post-secondary education in Communications, Political Science, Administration, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, or any other relevant field
- Be proficient with Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Documentation not required
- Have above average writing and research skills - Documentation not required
- Must show proof of a valid G driver's license
- Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses) at the time of interview
