**JOB SUMMARY**:
The **Human Resources Assistant** supports various HR processes, procedures and project within the Department.

**JOB TASKS**:

- Assists in the full cycle of recruiting and hiring process administering pre-employment tests, scheduling interviews and checking references.
- Assists in preparing internal and external job postings.
- Supports HR staff in maintaining employee files, electronically and in paper form.
- Supports foreign workers programs.
- Provides internal employee support.
- Provides back-up and support to HR staff as required
- Participates the Employee Appreciation Events planning.
- Provides back-up and support to HR staff as required.

**COMPETENCIES**:

- Must have a proven commitment to maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have strong time-management and organizational skills; able to multi-task effectively
- Must have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy;
- Must be able to work independently and take initiative
- Must be confident and comfortable interacting with all levels of management and employees

**REQUIRMENTS**:

- 1 year experience in similar roles.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree.
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs

**PREFERRED**:

- Basic knowledge of ADP Workforce now.
