**POSITION SCOPE**:
The Demand Planner is responsible for ensuring the availability of all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process. This role requires regular review of forecasts, regular communication with the Sales, Purchasing, Operations and Finance Teams, and works closely with the Schedulers and Master Scheduler. This individual must be Fluent in statistics, spreadsheets, root cause analysis, and risk management.
**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:
- To ensure a sufficient level of commodity is available to fill customer orders
- Schedule/oversee product flow
- Liaise between the Sales and Production Departments
- Utilize analytical, marketing, and sales data to estimate future product demands
- Review load versus capacity and be proactive if any issues are foreseen
- Monitor and report essential changes to sales forecasts, business strategies, and budgets
- Notify customer service/sales departments of any possible future shortages
- Support management with risk assessments and activities to help mitigate the risk and propose and implement solutions that accurately improve demand forecasts
- Consistently improve on-time delivery performance
- Ensure system updates are conducted to provide adequate planning horizon for purchasing activities and manufacturing capacity considerations
- Establish detailed production plans and confirm material and resources availability to meet the Master Production Schedule
- Develop applicable Planning Strategy based on product environment
- Planning and scheduling workflow, planning order sequences in assembly operations. Prepare and maintain production reports for Master Scheduler
- Communicate production priorities based on supply chain deficits, product demand and sales forecasts
- Perform other duties as assigned
**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:
**KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**: 5+ years’ experience in a demand planning or supply chain role required; post-secondary education required; Graduate in Business Administration or equivalent required; Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
**INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/CONTACTS**: regular access to confidential or sensitive information; frequent internal interactions and/or frequent external interactions; purpose of internal/external contacts regularly related to complex matters; regular selling, negotiating, consulting, teaching/instructing, or advising; above average level of written and verbal communication skills required for successful job performance
**PROBLEM SOLVING/JUDGMENT**: position is has some autonomy in terms of level of monitoring and decisions usually do not follow prescribed guidelines; frequent analysis required; frequently makes recommendations or referrals; responsible for solving moderate problems
**MENTAL EFFORT**: requires moderate to high levels of concentration and/or attentiveness; moderate duration and/or intensity of efforts; requires higher levels of thinking, watching, listening, verifying, checking numbers, creating or designing
