The Neighbourhood Revitalization Program uses a place based asset-based community development approach where a community engages in a process aimed at enhancing the quality of life of the neighbourhood. The Neighbourhood Revitalization Coordinator will support the mobilization of the passion and capacity of residents, business owners and neighbourhood organizations. They will facilitate community ownership of and involvement in the implementation of a strategic action plan for the neighbourhood. Strategy goals, aligned to Revitalization outcomes, could include increased safety, cleanliness and attractiveness, stronger social connections, developing neighbourhood leadership and increasing the vibrancy of the local economy.

Reporting to the Management Supervisor, the Neighbourhood Revitalization Coordinator will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to leverage the City’s other neighbourhood-level investment programs. The role will also include the following functions: capacity building, teamwork/collaboration, performance measurement and evaluation of outcomes, continuous program improvement, project management, communication and engagement, and management of the Neighbourhood Revitalization Funding streams.

**Qualifications**:
The Revitalization Coordinator will be responsible to:

- Facilitate and lead the development and coordination of goal directed community networks, committees and/or teams including supporting the recruitment, retention and code of conduct of volunteers
- Facilitate and lead the development and implementation of a Neighbourhood Revitalization Strategy
- Manage, facilitate and build support for community action plans
- Mentor and coach neighbourhood residents to mobilize local capacity and support sustainability
- Provide leadership and project management for community initiatives in collaboration with community stakeholders and staff, liaising with business partners throughout the project
- Identify City led opportunities that support the community action plans and provide project management services and prepare project documentation per the Project Management methodology, policies and processes and other requirements including determining how project resources, contracts and agreements are managed
- Negotiate and administer agreements and contracts ensuring that they adhere to City process, are executed in a timely manner and protect the rights and interests of both parties
- Identify and monitor risk and escalate contract and project management issues where required
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans in alignment with Branch and Section goals and contribute to the development of business plans
- Contribute to a coordinated Revitalization team and City-wide service delivery approaches through shared learning, to inform policy, action plans, tool kits, training and, ultimately, improve community life
- Act as a liaison for all community capital development projects located in an assigned geographic area that require department services
- Coordinate with Communications & Engagement for public engagement needs, to design and implement neighbourhood-level communication and public engagement, involving identification of stakeholders, key messages, communication tactics, website updates, 311 scripts, analyzing feedback and developing reports with recommendations
- Review Council/Committee/Leadership reports for content and completeness and write briefing notes
- Support the Leadership Team by responding to ad-hoc requests for information, provide confidential advice and prepare ad hoc reports that may have resulted from Council, administration or public inquiries
- Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the coordination and delivery of position accountabilities
- Interpretation of municipal, provincial and federal grant programs accessible to external partners

**Hours of Work**: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Some evening and weekend work will be required
