We are looking to fill a current role in the company, requiring an experienced, professional and adaptive **Automation & Controls Technician. **This is a role that offers the opportunity to work directly with a variety of departments (maintenance, production, quality, equipment vendors and contractors) and on different automated equipment and technology.

**Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Identify and implement kaizen (improvement) projects to improve productivity & efficiency
- Hands-on root cause analysis on production, engineering, equipment and maintenance issues
- Lead troubleshooting activities around electrical systems, provide solutions and support for process concerns or improvement. Also providing support for the mechanical side of the property maintenance needs.
- Automation troubleshooting, new equipment installation and modifications
- Evaluate and implement new equipment and processes
- Ensure equipment and systems comply with relevant standards and legislation
- Budget forecasting and monitoring
- Work and collaborate with cross-functional groups
- Find efficiencies and present opportunities for improvement to senior management using analytics as support. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes.
- Perform reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
- Act as a resource for IT related needs using a 3rd party IT provider
- Super User of company ERP system (M1), liaising with M1 Support to ensure system continues to support business needs
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive user data and product information.
- PLC Experience/Expertise (or willingness to learn): Provide support for various levels of manufacturing PLC equipment, working with third party programmers to fix issues and implement new equipment.
- Working with our Functional Groups to develop standardized work capturing What/How/Why we do what we do - Internal Process Management.

**Applicants must have**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- PLC Programming: 2 years (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License;
- Experience as an Electrician in a manufacturing plant or a similar heavy industrial environment;
- comfortable with PLCs, variable frequency drives, and controls.
