Concord, Canada CDC Contracting Inc. Full time

Position will be a part of our Estimating and Marketing Department Team to analyse and bid project tenders as well as work as part of the estimating team.
- Analyzes blueprints/drawings, specifications, proposals, contracts and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
- Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists for project estimates.
- Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness for projects.
- Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
- Consults with engineers, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues for estimate submissions.
- Read in full contract documents and present risks or advantages that can be accounted for to the operations team prior to tender closing.

- Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources to accurately represent the costs of works to preform tasks within the estimate submission.
- Coordinating the estimate submissions - organizing time for bid submissions and preparation of estimate.
- Estimating the Quantifiable Characteristics of Products, Events, or Information -- Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
- Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards -- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships -- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Interpreting the Meaning of Information for Others -- Translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used.
- Performing Administrative Activities -- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Developing Objectives and Strategies -- Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Documenting/Recording Information -- Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
- Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events -- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Analyzing Data or Information -- Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.

Required Experience
- Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of civil infrastructure, roads, or grading.
- Design - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Customer and Personal Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Knowledge of Office Suite Software.
- Knowledge of Bid2Win Estimating Software.
- 5+ years related experience in the construction industry
- 5+ years of experience in an Estimator position

Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
