**Position Summary**:
Are you an FPGA designer that is looking to be a member of a hardware design team developing innovative avionics network communications systems?

**Principal Duties**:

- **Duties Include**:_
- Co-ordinate, prioritize and assign tasks to the team
- Assist in the estimation of project and resourcing plans
- Develop requirements, complete RTL coding, simulation, verification, and integration of the FPGA into larger systems
- Collaborate with other development teams including Software, Hardware and Systems
- Complete design and verification documentation and participate in reviews
- Test and troubleshoot engineering prototypes in a lab environment
- Contribute to design and quality process definition and improvements

**Qualifications**
- **Skills Required**_
- Expertise in VHDL and SystemVerilog
- Experience in shell scripting (Perl/Tcl/Python)
- Experience with FPGA design and simulation tools from multiple vendors (e.g. Libero (Microchip), Quartus (Intel), Vivado (AMD/Xilinx), RivieraPro, Modelsim, VCS)
- Demonstrated “finisher” and “self-starter” with common sense and the ability to be creative, persistent and stay with a problem until it is resolved
- Strong English communication and writing skills are essential
- Able to meet requirements of controlled-goods certification (Minimum 5 years of Canadian residency)
- **Education**:_
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- **Experience**:_
- 10+ years of FPGA or ASIC design experience (5 - 10 will be considered)
- **Desired**:_
- Experience in development for Microchip Polarfire series
- Knowledge of functional verification tools and methodology using VHDL, Verilog/SystemVerilog and SystemC
- Experience in Functional coverage-based verification methodologies
- Development experience with CPU subsystems.
- Ability to use C or C++ for verification of CPU
- Development experience in the following technologies: OFDM modem development, DDR4, PCIe, PCI, SPI, I2C, RS-232, AXI, AHB, APB
- Experience implementing DSP algorithms
- Development experience with C, C++
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553C protocol
- Experience in a military/avionics environment (DO-254 development process)
- **Personal Relations Skills**:_
- Able to interact positively with employees at all levels in the organization
- **Miscellaneous**:_
- May be able to successfully complete a security clearance background check to the level of Secret (may require 10 years Canadian residency)
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision, prioritizing work activities appropriately
- Good organizational skills
- **Equipment/Software To Be Used**:_
- Computer workstations and servers running Windows
- **Typical Physical Demands**:_
- Must be able to sit at desk during work day
- Must be able to work with a computer
- **Working Conditions**:_
- Must be able to work in a typical office setting
- Must be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines
- May be required to work evenings and/or weekends from time-to-time when required to meet deadlines

**Terms Of Employment**:
