**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Must be able to perform, but not be limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:_

As a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to the development and execution of Canadian North's overall corporate strategy:

- Establish and implement a consistent brand style across all communications platforms;
- Lead the design of a culturally appropriate and exceptional customer experience throughout the entire customer life cycle, targeting customer satisfaction and brand loyalty;
- Lead the development and implementation of Canadian North's Marketing Strategy, ensuring that it reflects the unique identity of ownership and customer base;
- Oversee Marketing operations including branding, advertising, corporate collateral, loyalty programs;
- Ensure the consistent appearance of all company print and electronic materials such as letterhead, brochures, use of logo, etc.;
- Oversee internal corporate communications including internal website;
- Conduct and oversee effective, meaningful internal communications with all stakeholders (newsletters, photo management, write and edit articles) through various print and digital platforms in a consistent and strategic manner;
- Oversee and vet/edit internal communications to all aspects of the business including Health and Safety (H&S), Human Resources, Operations, Finance and other departments as needed;
- Maintain a strong and engaging web presence for Canadian North on external website;
- Manage presence, messaging, and brand strategy across all social media platforms;
- Guide, manage and maintain all external corporate communications including media relations, key stakeholder relations and social media;
- Provides leadership, mentorship and development of direct and indirect reports;
- Sets goals and monitors performance of the Marketing and Communications team;
- Provides market data, reporting and relevant research for strategic corporate decision making;
- Prepares and manages departmental operating budgets for their department;
- Travel & other duties required.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:_

- Minimum eight (8) years in Communication, Marketing, and/or Public Relations;
- Minimum four (4) years Post Secondary Education;
- Demonstrated exceptional writing skills, journalistic background a strong asset;
- Experience with brand loyalty strategies and customer experience design initiatives;
- Experience and proven track record in Strategy and planning; Editorial; Media Relations; Issues Management; Brand Communications and Advertising; and maintaining a budget;
- Understanding of issues facing northern communities and Inuit with ability to analyze and interpret these issues in the context of the Company's goals and objectives;
- Network of positive relationships with key Northern and Inuit business, community and government representatives an asset;
- Strong organization and management skills, including the ability to lead and develop a team;
- Demonstrated communication skills with experience speaking in public;
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines with high work load;
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in full MS Office Suite;
- Willingness and availability to travel frequently is essential;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut an asset;
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Pass in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
