**Nature and Scope**:

- As a Junior Concrete Estimator, you are responsible for assisting the Senior Concrete Estimator and the Estimating Manager in performing quantity takeoff and creating estimates for our EllisDon Forming division.
- Performs all functions and responsibilities in consonance with the company’s values and beliefs.

**You as a Junior Concrete Estimator will**:

- Perform detailed concrete and formwork takeoff and transfer to EllisDon’s pricing templates (excel).
- Assist in calculating material price lists, labor costs per manhour, equipment rental costs, etc.
- Obtain scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
- Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.
- Review drawings and tender documents to understand scope of work and submission requirements.
- Assist in closing bids.
- Assist in pricing change orders for projects currently being built.
- Assist in the monitoring of conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

**Is this the right role for you?**
- 1 - 3 years of experience in estimating ICI projects with a General Contractor, with particular focus on Concrete & Formwork.
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing required.
- Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand engineering drawings, sub-quotes, supplier quotes etc. is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to create and maintain strong relationships, strong communication skills, and attention to detail; as well as the ability to work effectively and accurately in time sensitive situations within a team.
- You have a construction related degree/diploma.
- Work requires moderate physical exertion, visual and/or auditory concentration, manual dexterity and/or strain.
- Work may have exposure to some undesirable or unpleasant environmental characteristics. Physical environment has mínimal safety and health risk.
