One Permanent Full Time Position.

Capital Power is currently seeking an energetic and initiative-taking individual to join our dynamic Supply Chain Team

You will contribute to our team by- Completing moderate to complex analysis related to inventory.- Optimizing inventory to achieve medium-term and long-term objectives (inventory accuracy, rationalization).- Implementing standardized inventory management processes in plant and progression to other facilities.- Reviewing inventory to ensure parameters for replenishment are correctly assigned (Re-order Point, Safety Stock, Economic Order Quantity, ABC classification, etc.) and in alignment with facility requirements.- Participating in the purchasing function. Must be knowledgeable of purchasing practices but no daily purchasing responsibility.- Supporting the purchasing process to cover absence.- Managing obsolete/surplus inventory consignment program.- Providing feedback to SCM and business of value-add from consignment process.- Participating in and lead process improvement (Kaizen) activities within scope of inventory management.- Providing consistent, ongoing input to Plant Management, Warehouse/materials management, Finance, and Supply Chain Management teams regarding progress and department-specific impact of new/alternative inventory management processes.- Engaging with relevant plant staff where accountability does not lie with Supply Chain to inform requirements for ongoing inventory processes that must be sustained outside the Supply Chain group.- Negotiating/Engage with Suppliers and Subject Matter Experts to review inventory contract pricing and alternatives.- Dealing with critical financial data for all assets.- Contributing to ongoing development/enhancement of CMMS system, acts as SME (Subject matter expert) for Inventory portion of Maximo. Works with internal customers and CMMS team to provide solutions to inventory management (and other) integrated processes.- Implementing new/updated processes and track results vs. baselines to demonstrate continuous improvement. (Current state vs. future state).- Creating and maintaining PowerBI reports to provide relevant inventory info to internal customers and convert that info to KPI’s where necessary.- Engaging in team-based solutioning to inventory related issues via established problem-solving methodology (LEAN).- Supporting integration of new facilities into CMMS (Maximo) from Inventory Mgmt perspective.- Training relevant staff on the use of Maximo CMMS inventory functions (Counting, Receiving, Transfers, Usages, etc.).- Focusing on initiative-taking measures (cycle counts, surplus monitoring, etc. to provide effective reporting on leading indicators) to mitigate risk to plant downtime while balancing need to effectively manage investment in inventory and its corresponding impact on cash flow.- Completing inventory budget creation/tracking/monitoring.- Utilizing root-analysis to target solutions to prevent re-occurrence (5 Why’s - Fishbone/Ishikawa diagrams).- Developing a good rapport with Operations/Maintenance teams.- Working cross-functionally with plant warehouse/materials staff.- Working in a customer focused and professional manner.- Acting with integrity when making decisions and understanding the importance of accurately managing company assets (inventory).

What you will bring to the role

**Education**:
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain/Materials Management/Business/Operations.- Other related fields of study will be considered.- Relevant professional accreditation is desirable; (SCMP, CSCP, CPIM or CPSM)

**Experience**:
- 3+ Years’ experience in a similar position with 5 years’ minimum experience in some aspect of Operations/Supply Chain Management

Technical Skills:
- Experience with IBM Maximo CMMS, Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (or similar), Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Power BI, Excel expertise (creating management-executive level reports from data extracts, pivot tables, etc.)

Working Conditions:
