We have an exciting opportunity for a **Parent Education Facilitator** (full time contract till June 2025) to join our Home & Community Outreach Team
In this role you will be responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of individual and group programming, at site specific locations across Waterloo Region (including participant's homes and at county sites). As part of the Children and Parents Connecting (CAPC) program, the CAPC Parent Education Facilitator provides parents/caregivers of children 0-6 with support achieving healthy child development, attachment, positive parenting, social support, referrals to appropriate community services, and practical safety information. The CAPC Faciliator partners with families to identify and implement strategies to build resilience and wellness for their child.

**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:
- Provide in home coaching to families focused on connecting to sustainable community supports and resources, decreasing social isolation, and how to use ‘play’ as a means of promoting healthy child development
- Promotes activities that strengthen the skills and capabilities of communities, parents and caregivers to act on the health and well-being of their children and families
- Engage in virtual service delivery options via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc. on an as needed basis
- Engage effectively with the CAPC team and leadership to evaluate and strengthen our services, aligning closely with the CAPC objectives set out by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and that of Camino
- Engage in site specific promotion of CAPC programs to target population
- Support parents and their children by increasing their knowledge of community resources and programs available and linking them to these services
- Collaboratively develop content for and facilitate groups to promote healthy development of children aged 0-6
- Create an environment and quality programming at each site that is inclusive, participatory, supportive, culturally sensitive and meets the needs of the partents and children
- To work in accordance with the Child and Family Services Act and other relevant legislation.
- Collaborate and foster relationships with other community partners, & attending other community meetings, as assigned.
- Ensure individual families receiving service are provided with a warm transfer when additional services within or outside of Camino are necessary.
- Share in planning, facilitating, and delivering inclusive, participatory, supportive, and informative parent/child activities with the collaboration of other staff, including maintaining communication with parents.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**:
- Child and Youth Worker (CYW), Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent and registration in the respective regulatory body is preferred.
- Certification in infant mental health, “Circle of Security”, “Nobody’s Perfect” and/or other evidence-based programs is an asset.
- Familiarity with ASQ screening tools
- 3-5 years of related experience (e.g. working in community-based programs focused on supporting young children and parents; experience supporting prenatal families, working with young parents and early child development)
- Demonstrated strength in engaging with young children in the 0-6 age range.
- Ability to drive change with enthusiasm and to be engaged and responsive to shifts in the community.
