To maintain its leadership position in this market and to grow its global presence, SSCI is looking for a **General Manager** who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility and ensures the work is organized to maximize production and human resources. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the creation of effective methods and strategies. This position involves the leading of experienced and talented departmental heads and involves managing all facets of an Engineer to Order business.

Reporting directly to the President, this position is full-time and is an immediate requirement for the company. If you have a passion for sports and helping build our country’s sports infrastructure, then this position is for you. **SSCI is based out of its Almonte, ON.**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Operations Management**
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the production department through communication with front-line supervisors
- Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets
- Plan and manage the establishment of a company-wide budget
- Develop production schedules and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products through communication with production coordinators, inventory management and front-line supervisors
- Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work. Document or delegate documentation of processes to capture best methods.
- Direct quality control inspection system and develop production reporting procedures
- Develop equipment maintenance schedules and recommend the replacement of machines. Enforce equipment maintenance schedule through select departments
- Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques through departmental supervisors
- Manage risk to organization through compliance audits

**Safety**
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures
- Coordinate and support health and safety initiatives and requirements
- Ensure front line supervisors are adhering to all safety and process documentation (in field and in plant)
- Wear all required personal protective equipment when required on a job site
- Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the work area
- Act as the Management representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee

**Human Resources**
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing concerns, suggestions or other issues.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process internally, and work with external recruiters when required.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization.
- Ensure company is adhering to MOL & safety standards
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance. Support supervisory staff during performance appraisals.
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management

**Process Management**
- Support team in the pursuit of accurate, reliable, and repeatable process standards
- Conduct assessments of manufacturing operations to provide focused improvement opportunities to increase production efficiencies, eliminate waste, reduce inventory, reduce lead times, increase quality and increase due date performance.
- Chair QC and non-conformance meetings among departments
- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific process improvement goals and targets.
- Assist in cost reduction proposals
- Communicate findings and plans with the company’s executives to ensure changes are implemented correctly

**Leadership**
- Support SSCI’s core values and the organization’s mission on a daily basis.
- Lead by example.
- Maintain communication between employees and leadership to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood
- Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems

**Financial Management**
- Deliver and report Key Operational KPI’s to President
