**Director of Modeling, Credit Risk Analytics - Cambridge Headquarters**
**Location**: Cambridge, ON
**Status**: In-Office (**Ability to commute/relocate to Cambridge is required**)
**Who We Are Looking For**:
We’re on the hunt for a forward-thinking **Director of Modeling** to spearhead our credit risk analytics department. This isn’t your typical scorecard modeling gig. We’re after someone who dives deep into the trenches of data, harnesses the power of advanced analytics, and emerges with strategies that not only predict but also pivot the future of consumer lending.
**Must-Have Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: A minimum of 7 years in the consumer lending environment, with hands-on leadership in project development from conception to launch.
- **Education**: Advanced degree in quantitative disciplines (e.g., statistics, economics, econometrics, finance, mathematics, physics, engineering), with a focus on quantitative methods.
- **Technical Proficiency**: Direct experience with predictive modeling using tools like R, Matlab, Python, or SAS.
- **A portfolio showcasing advanced techniques beyond linear regression, including neural networks, ensemble methods, or other cutting-edge approaches.**:
- **Innovative Problem Solving**: Demonstrable experience in transforming complex datasets into actionable decisions. We value examples of groundbreaking models you’ve significantly contributed to.
- **Strategic Influence**: Proven track record in leveraging credit score analytics to influence business strategies across the credit lifecycle (Adjudication, Acquisitions, Portfolio Management, Collections, Fraud, Loss Forecasting).
- **Communication & Leadership**: Exceptional skills in articulating complex analytic recommendations to a broad audience and leading cross-functional teams towards a common goal.
**Job Functions**:
As a key player in our team, you will:
- Develop and refine our company’s strategy to advance our Credit Scoring capabilities, ensuring they’re not just cutting-edge but also uniquely tailored to our strategic goals.
- Lead projects that translate advanced analytics into real-world impacts, driving the end-to-end process from data to decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to integrate innovative modeling techniques into our credit risk management practices.
- Serve as a mentor and leader within the team, fostering an environment where advanced modeling techniques are not just applied but also evolved.
