**POSITION TITLE**: Women’s Emergency Shelter Worker

**PROGRAM**: Women’s Emergency Shelter Program

**REPORTS TO**: Shelter Program Coordinator

**POSITION**:Provide emergency shelter services to women and gender diverse people as per Housing First Guidelines, Service Agreement and standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Minimum Post-Secondary education in a related field (Social Service Worker, Social Work, Mental Health and Addictions)
- CPIC Clearance.
- CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Prevention, CPR and First Aid, Suicide Intervention Training.
- 1-year experience working with women and gender diverse people who face multiple barriers, such as poverty, isolation, discrimination, trauma, criminalization, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness.
- 1-year experience working with women in a residential setting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Experience using HIFIS software.
- Knowledge of Housing First Principles.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent recording and data collection skills.
- Advanced oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Community relations, public education and collaborative skills.
- Bilingualism considered an asset.
