**Position Summary**

The Production Planner plans and coordinates the work schedule of production departments using work order information and available inventory quantities to ensure timely delivery to customers.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for creating and maintaining the overall Master Production Schedule (MPS), to meet operational and customer requirements and to ensure the optimal utilization of company resources.
- Schedule and maintain required stock levels of products by setting Re-order points aligned with sales history and forecast.
- Schedule production of Made to Order items ensuring ship dates are met for all orders.
- Develop and publish a rolling 3-day production schedule to the plant aligned with ingredient and packaging required for production runs.
- Adjust schedule to meet changing needs (i.e., Equipment breakdowns). Communicates inventory issues to Customer Service so that solutions can be developed.
- Adjust/modify schedules to accommodate rush orders, new product launches.
- Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information requested from manufacturing, customer service, logistics or accounting.
- Coordinate, analyze and prepare production schedule priorities with the operations team, monitor and report schedule attainment.
- Support and initiate continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

**Education, Experience & Competency Requirements**:

- College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a planner and/or scheduler in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of ERP system and Microsoft Office products, strong computer skills.
- Excellent analytical deductive reasoning skills with a disciplined, logical approach.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Detail orientated, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
