Founded in 1968, Gateway Mechanical is a privately owned company that has established itself as a leader in the commercial and industrial refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning industry (HVACR). Attending to 40,000+ service calls per year, Gateway is the largest HVAC & Refrigeration service provider in Western Canada. Our model is comprised of local branch teams with fully qualified personnel representing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/gas fitting, sheet metal and electrical trades. These teams are supported by centers of excellence including professional engineers and project managers which ensures Gateway’s full technical capability is available for every project and service call.
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a strategic position within the sales enablement team and is responsible for establishing initial contact with potential customers, setting up meetings between Business Development Representatives and potential customers, create or expand lists of potential customers based on desired customer criteria, prequalification of potential customers, estimation, and completion of RFP/RFQ standing offers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Make initial contact with potential customers, follow up and set up meetings for Business Development representatives in various areas.
- Utilize consultative sales methodology to secure meetings for business development representatives.
- Create and/or expand lists of potential customers to call upon.
- Manage potential customers in multiple areas.
- Complete prequalification’s for potential customers.
- Assist in/complete proper customer validation and set up.
- Complete and estimate request for Pricing/requests for quotes for time and material standing offers.
- Input all customer information into CRM.
- Other required duties may be assigned that fall within the parameters of the primary responsibility of the position.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills;
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Previous experience working in the HVAC or refrigeration industry is an asset;
- Experience using Salesforce is an asset.
