The Conference & Events Manager is responsible planning, organizing and developing food and beverage conference & event services while meeting customer expectations and financial targets. The Manager handles all client communication regarding events and increases sales of event-only business to the Hotel and food and beverage outlets.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

- Communicate effectively with all internal stakeholders to ensure the team is able to best meet client requirements.
- Develop accurate event floorplan designs
- Develop and demonstrate an excellent knowledge of hotel facilities, including capacities and dimensions of meeting rooms
- Maintain the policies set forth in the group sales contract (i.e. deposits, cut off dates, attrition, rooming lists, billing instructions)
- Coordinate the sales efforts between sales department and catering to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues
- Negotiate with clients and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying client needs
- Act as the liaison between the client and the hotel for all of the client needs, (i.e. hotel rooms, catering and events, audio visual, transportation, off-site event recommendations)
- Quality check and supervise the execution of banquet events
- Oversee the coordination of a variety of events including conferences, seminars, corporate dinners, weddings, and entertainment and training events
- Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and evaluate post-event quality of support services and provide feedback as necessary
- Complete monthly forecasts for Conference & Events Revenue
- Achieve annual personal and team sales and service goals
- Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners and potential clients
- Develop creative and attractive menu presentations for potential clients
- Provide input on the marketing plan and budget including developing promotional brochures, audiovisual materials, video presentations, and other tools to recruit and contract with potential clients (event only, wedding and corporate group)
- Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase catering activity, volume and profit
- Evaluate service and menu costs on an ongoing basis to ensure competitiveness
- Present a positive and professional image and attitude at all times to represent the company at the highest level.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan alongside the Marketing and Communications Manager that assists in attracting event only business
- Lead, coach and mentor the Event Services Coordinator.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 15 months

**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year
