Accounting Technician (2 Positions Available)

Overview

Hill & Company LLP is looking for an Accounting Technician to join our team located in the west end of Edmonton We strive to provide exceptional client service to small businesses and individuals with the personal service they want and the professional advice they need. As an accounting technician, you will be crucial to our team’s success through your participation with personal and corporate tax files and unparalleled client service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of corporate tax year ends (compilations)
- Preparation of personal tax returns
- Tax planning
- Preparation of other tax & compliance filings (T4/T5/T5018/WCB/GST, etc.)
- CRA correspondence including file review/audit responses
- Bookkeeping
- Payroll
- Other preparer and technician duties as needed
- Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program or courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk are required.
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong positive interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on comparative importance and urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Proficient in English (demonstrated written and oral)

Preferred Qualifications and Capabilities
- Bachelor degree with a focus in Accounting
- Experience working in an accounting firm
- Experience working with QuickBooks, Sage, TaxCycle, TPS and CaseWare
- Ability to type at least 60 WPM

Hour requirements

January - April: 44 hours/week

May - June, September - December: 40 hours/week

July - August: 32 hours/week

Overtime as needed in March to April

Compensation
- $50,000/year
