**Job Description**:
Shantz Orthotic Solutions in London, Ontario is looking to hire an orthotic lab technician to join our team. We are a well-established and busy clinic with 2 full-time Pedorthists. As a Pedorthist, we assess a person's gait abnormalities and inefficiencies and then create and manufacture custom-made foot orthotics. We work closely with other health-care professionals including orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, chiropractors, chiropodists, etc.

We are currently seeking a reliable, hard-working person to assist us in our orthotic lab. In this role, you will be a valuable part of our production team, assisting with the production and manufacturing of custom-made orthotics. We are looking for a person that is motivated, energetic, organized, and a team player.

The successful applicant will be responsible to ensure that production quotas are met in a timely fashion while ensuring the product is complete to a high standard of quality. Training will be provided.

Job duties include:

- Working independently in the lab - cleaning casts, manufacturing of the orthotics, preparing the orthotic materials
- Reading and following lab work orders for design specifications
- Operating bench grinders to assist with the orthotic manufacturing
- Assisting the Pedorthists with adjustments and shoe modifications as required
- Monitor and assist with inventory of materials and reporting to lab manager when an order needs to be placed
- Maintain cleanliness in work area and equipment
- Ensuring daily quota goals are met in an organized and timely fashion
- Work cooperatively with the production team to ensure the product has a high quality standard

**Requirements**:

- Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
- High attention to detail
- Self-management with mínimal supervision
- Work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
- Positive attitude and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take constructive criticism
- Strong work ethic
- Reliable and punctual
- Experience working with belt grinders preferred
- Previous experience in a Pedorthic clinic is an asset

Working conditions:

- Physical job - must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Work standing for long periods of time
- Dust, glue odours, noisy machinery - safety equipment will be provided (goggles, mask, ear protection)

Education and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Health Sciences is preferred
- Post-Secondary education
- No experience required
