Position Title**:Health and Wellness Program Assistant**

Terms of Employment: Full Time Permanent Position (35hr/week) Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

**The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute Inc. (CMWI)** is a non-profit organization founded in 2006. Its goal is to promote and empower refugee and newcomer women and their families socially, economically, and spiritually. CMWI is run by an elected Board whose members are women of diverse cultures, ages, and professions. CMWI is a direct service delivery organization serving its members through various programs that cater to the needs of long-time residents, new immigrants, and refugees. CMWI creates a community that supports and strengthens refugee and newcomer women and their families. It plays a transformative role in enabling them to make informed decisions for themselves and their families; foster sound emotional health, stability, and personal development; and to achieve self-sufficiency and financial independence.

**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**:

- Market, publicize, recruit and register participants for the health and wellness programs.
- Promote CMWI services and programs to clients and partner organizations and develop strong relationships.
- Perform administrative tasks like tracking attendance and Momentum database entry, printing and preparing activity and evaluation forms, and updating and maintaining files.
- Arrange, organize and work together with other trained staff and facilitators to assist delivery of workshops
- Assist in coordinating and supervising contractors: facilitators, interpreters, Child Care Assistants, and staff working on the health and wellness program.
- Assist in evaluating the outcomes of the program.
- Assist in tracking and managing the program budget.
- Assist in compiling monthly and annual reports.
- Assist in monitoring and making the necessary adjustment to improve the program operations.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in social work, community development, or related social fields
- Experience working with immigrants and refugees from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Strong command of the English Language (spoken and written).
- Exceptional administrative, organizational, and time management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion while acting in a highly ethical manner.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, respectful and inclusively with other staff, volunteers and clients.
- Experience in writing reports
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and canvas are assets).
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Preference will be given to applicants with multiple language skills relevant to our clients.
- Experience with program development and program delivery is an asset.
- Applicants with a professional interest in mental health or social work professions will be given priority.

**Hours of work**: 35 hours per week. 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and requires flexibility to be available in the late afternoons or weekends for programs. The contract is until March 31, 2023, with good potential for renewal. Employment Equity is a factor in selection. Applicants are asked to declare if they are rom a designated group.
