**Executive Chef**

**Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of cooks and other staff as you create and deliver nutritious and delicious meals to our residents, always adhering to Ministry and Public health guidelines.
- Prepare meals/beverages using specific sanitation and quality procedures.
- Cooking from scratch and being creative.
- Store stock appropriately in order to maintain cleanliness and prevent food spoilage.
- Additional duties as instructed such as assisting with all aspects of meal preparation.
- Adhere to strict cleaning schedules after each meal while observing Health & Safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure correct labelling, storage, and rotation of food.
- Safely dispose of leftover food & complete kitchen closing check.
- Oversee the kitchen and dining facilities within the community including scheduling, processing orders, and budgeting for the food and kitchen equipment.

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a restaurant or Retirement community.
- Current Food Handlers certificate.
- Willing and able to work well within a team environment.
- Experience and knowledge of serving special dietary needs.
- Knowledgeable of applicable government legislation and policies including RHRA and Infection Control.
- Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility is an asset.
- Strong organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; willingness to interact with residents.
- Strong customer service skills; working with an aging population providing customized support and services.
