Sales/merchandising Representative

A. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
**Sales**
- Sell company authorized products in required and targeted volumes to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Perform customer needs analysis, develop solutions, discuss product offerings, and negotiate with customers.
- Prospect and ensure the proper level of activity within assigned area to generate sales results.
- Identify, qualify, and visit prospects and customers in the assigned area.
- Maintain existing customer accounts, grow and generate new business.
- Analyze sales reports - report growth, expansion, and change in markets.
- Produce accurate and timely forecasts as required by management.
- Advise Administration of customer orders for processing.
- Work with Supply Chain personnel regarding customer delivery issues.
- Respond to general customer inquiries and complaints.
- Improve customer experience with the support of sales management as needed or required.
- Work with Sales Support and customers to resolve returns and credit disputes/issues.
- Participate in product and sales related training.
- Keep current on product knowledge and selling process.
- Work with Sales Management to help set objectives and develop strategic solutions to reach sales goals.
- Work with Sales Management to implement appropriate strategies to improve sales.
- Oversee sales activities aimed at increasing sales, assortment, and display of products.
- Compile data using a variety of parameters ranging from product sales in various markets to performance of individual sales personnel and customers.
- Understand our customers and competitors and their buying habits and promotional programs.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop product positioning and messaging that resonates with our target buyers.
- Participating in discussions with Banner Store and Distributors regarding promotional activities, new product launches etc.
**Merchandising**
- Maintain customer relationships by visiting store managers, department managers, and employees; answering their questions; responding to special requests; describing product features.
- Determine call schedule by reviewing priorities with supervisor, discussing special instructions, product promotions, new products, and price changes.
- Maintain store shelves by observing displays of company products; removing damaged or freshness-dated products; tidying store shelves; providing optimum display of products.
- Maintain inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory; observing inventory levels; prompting store management to reorder when levels appear low; arranging for return and credit for damaged products.
- Complete retail price audit by observing display and pricing of competitors' products.
- Check on special promotions; forward observations to management; ensure stores adhere to retailing pricing.
- Provide information by reporting growth, expansion, or closing of supermarkets in assigned territory.
- Collaborate with stores to ensure proper execution of plans/goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge in assigned areas of product inventory, product placement, expiry dates, promotion, etc.
- Gather information on market trends and customers’ reactions to products.
**Other**
- Display at all times a positive, professional, and business-like behavior.
- Administer all work according to Company expectations and guidelines.
- Provide input to develop new processes as part of continuous improvement.
- Strict adherence to all Company established procedures and policies, including Food Handling, Health and Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Special projects or other duties as required.
