**MOBILE EQUIPMENT TRAINER (Fixed Term Contract)**

The role of the Mobile Equipment Trainer is to ensure that all Côté Gold employees have the necessary training(s) required to perform their duties. The Mobile Equipment Trainer must ensure training is in compliance with legislative requirements (OH&S Regulations, Explosives Act, etc.) and conformance with company policies.

**Key Responsibilities**

Area 1:
Operational readiness tasks. Support Côté Gold personnel on-site prior to Commissioning during the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) phase of the site:

- Establish and maintain communications with all stakeholders of the operation (workers, supervisors, department heads, etc.) to ensure training needs are identified and addressed in a timely manner and risks associated with the business are reduced in order to build and maintain a safe, cost effective, and productive operation.
- Provide Classroom Trainings such as Employee Induction Trainings as required.
- Support Mine Operations Trainers as required.
- Provide Training for supper/auxiliary equipment.
- Provides safe and effective classroom, practical, and follow-up training in a timely manner.
- Evaluates employees on their abilities to safely and effectively operate the equipment and other day to day activities.
- Ensures that employees are mentored and coached in a safe, effective and productive operation on Cote Gold and other Site Equipment as required.
- Schedules field visits to follow up on operator progress and gives feedback and direction where required.
- Provides direction and mentoring to field Coaches who assist with training.
- Maintains accurate records of training events and provides training reports and summaries as needed (course outlines, attendance & evaluations).
- Contributes to the research and development of training materials and ensures that the content is both relative and supportive of the Course (specifically) and the Training program (generally).
- Ensures all training is in compliance with legislative requirements, and in conformance with company policies, and Impact and Benefit Agreements (IBA).
- Contributes to the development and implementation of effective and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for interdepartmental functions.
- Participates in the periodic review & evaluation of existing equipment / policy / procedures / practices and makes recommendations and implements approved improvements.
- Delivers orientations when required to do so.
- Liaises with the Safety department to ensure that both technical and safety training requirements are being met for employees.
- Provides assistance in ensuring production goals are achieved by working collaboratively with the operating departments.
- Facilitates and presents additional internal training programs targeting the improvement of operator knowledge and skills as well as soft-skill development and policy/procedure training.
- Demonstrates courageous, safety leadership; adheres to and sponsors safety and environmental rules and procedure compliance to site OHS standards as well as participates in safety initiatives, hazard identification, toolbox meetings and incident investigations where required.
- Promotes and demonstrates Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA).

Qualifications

**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- High School Diploma.
- Vocational Diploma in Heavy Equipment Operation preferred or experience operating mine mobile production and support equipment in lieu of.

Work experience - Nature & Length
- Seven to Ten years’ experience operating / training experience on mobile production and support equipment in the mining/construction industry.
- Large size Heavy equipment operation in mining or similar industries and/or training experience on the following: Haulage Trucks, particularly 777 and 793, Production Loaders, Electric Drills, Heavy Duty Dozers, Graders, Electric/hydraulic Shovels, Excavators (Various sizes) and Backhoes. Mobile Crushing Plant operation experience is considered an asset.
